Then I delved into the rest of their catalogue and have heard all of their albums (including the live I Might Be Wrong) except Pablo Honey, which I might eventually check out as a curiosity, and The King of Limbs. A few months later, its position was to be usurped by Kid A, and I've bought many more albums since but both would still comfortably be in my top 40 or 50 overall and top 2 in the Radiohead catalogue (and I actually don't mind Fitter Happier!) - can't think of any other band/artist from the last 20 years that has had such an impressive run as The Bends -> Kid A. I finally bought the album in late 2009, although I can't remember if this was before or after I discovered RYM and saw (and would no doubt have been influenced by) the album's 3rd place on the RYM chart.Īnyway, after many a spin it became firmly established in my top 10 all-time favourites and was already on its way to establishing Radiohead as one of my all-time favourite bands.

Ashamed to say it didn't do much for me (IMO, I'm still surprised it became such a hit, I do like it, but for me, Airbag, Subterranean Homesick Alien, Exit Music, Let Down and No Surprises are all quite a bit better) and despite being aware of OK Computer as THE album of the 90s, something about the name (both the album and band) didn't appeal to me much, as not being much into rock music back then I thought it would be mostly boring electronica with no heart or soul (could hardly have been further from the truth!).

I'll admit I'm a real latecomer to Radiohead the only song of theirs I heard for many years was Paranoid Android on a Now! 37 compilation from 1997, probably starting late 90s/early 00s.
